Old Radio Technical Services Jay Mendoza jaymen@pacbell.net
Offering repair services for older radio gear. "I would like to offer a link to my e-mail so your members can contact me for assistance in renovating and technical help with older radios. We have recently been working closely with Zel Ritchie and have a couple Space Controls working, one is going to be flown in a Ugly Stick, then we plan on putting it in an Astro Hog. Dan Hines is building a Phantom from the original plans we received from Jerry Nelson, as that was Zel’s original plane he flew at several Nats, and world championships. I also have worked with Lee Renaud, (Airtronics) Big John Eliot and Eloy Marez, (Orbit) Doug Spreng (Digicon & Micro Avionics) Steve Helms(Radio South & Futaba) having been employed in the R/C field doing repairs from 1978 to 1993, a period of 15 years. Prior to that, and currently, I still repair radios. Most recently Bob Harris has sent in some radios. My specialty is tubes, single channel (carrier and tone) analog proportional and Pulse/Galloping Ghost. Most vintage digital proportional systems can be retro-fitted with modern receivers and servos, some guys even re-use the original cases, so we don’t do too many, but I’m game. I recently restored a Digimite 4RS for a guy in Japan"
