Hello fellow Vintage Society Radio Control Society Members and Guests. I wanted to let you know that I am starting to take the reins from Norm Berger as our Webmaster. Norm has been helping me develop our new site and my sincere thanks to Norm for his knowledge and support.
As you look through our new website, please keep in mind that I will continue to work with Norm in adding content and correcting any issues if they pop up. This is a work in progress and expect to see periodic changes and additions. The links were tested today, so if you have any issues, please let me know.
NOTE: After going live with this latest version today (5/6/24), we had some issues where the links were broken. That has now been corrected. HOWEVER, if you click on some of the menu links and they do not work for you, you must clear your cache (it took about 3-5 times to clear cache for a couple of us members to clear the cache before all links worked). Once you've cleared your cache, all should be fine. Thank you for your patience!
See you out at one of the events this year and let's have an awesome season. Again, my sincere thanks to Norm for his years of dedicated support and service to our VRCS team! Thank you.
Jim Luby

NEWS FLASH
Another Member Heads West
VRCS Hall of Fame and AMA Hall of Fame member Jack Albrecht passed away February 28th. His interest in model aviation started with solid models, rubber power and reading the pulp fiction novels of air warfare over the Western Front. Jack eventually became involved in building powered gas free flight models and early control line. Like so many others of his generation, Jack went to war and joined the US Army in 1944, serving with the 11th Airborne Division in the South Pacific. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Sergeant. After the war, Jack studied radio engineering, working on carrier current telephone equipment. The radio control bug hit Jack; his first radio system was Ed Rockwood’s resonant reed system. Jack later enlisted in the US Army Reserve and served in Korea, Panama, Vietnam and Germany; his Army career ended after 26 years, retiring as a full Colonel. Jack purchased a Digicon radio and became involved in the development of the of the Digitrio radio published in RCM. Jack worked for Kraft Systems and became a member of the AMA frequency committee which developed a plan to gain additional frequencies for model aircraft and surface use and later became the Customer Service manager for Airtronics. Thank you Jack for your service to the country and model aviation.

Spirit of Selinsgrove Reunion On The Move
After many years of hosting the Spirit of Selinsgrove Reunion, the Aeroguidance Society has decided to pass the torch to a new host club. The Valley Forge Signal Seekers of Valley Forge, PA have agreed to host the 35th annual Spirit of Selinsgrove Reunion at their flying site in the Valley Forge National Park on August 31st and September 1st. The first Spirit of Selinsgrove Reunion was created shortly after the formation of the Vintage Radio Control Society and held at its original location, the Selinsgrove airport. When attendance outgrew the airport, the event moved to the Ft. Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania Army National Guard facility, Lums Pond State Park in Delaware and eventually to Owego, NY.
Event director Chad Hill and the Signal Seekers are offering a full two days of flying in this most hallowed ground where George Washington and his Colonial forces camped during the cold winter of 1777 – 1778. Pre-registration is required due to Park policies. You can find more information on the published flyer on the website and in The Vintage Flier. Thank you Aeroguidance Society for your years of support to VRCS and the Signal Seekers for continuing this annual traditional event celebrating the early days of radio control.
